Asphalt Surfaces (International) Limited was established in 1994 to service the local bituminous pavement industry and is now one of the market leaders in this field. We are an independently owned business with the owners having a long and distinguished history of involvement in the Hong Kong road construction industry.

With reference to our “Projects” page, Asphalt Surfaces continue to be successful in the completion of many projects, on time and within budget. Since establishment, we have been involved in high profile construction projects, providing asphalt and other associated services to our clients, who include the Hong Kong Highways Department, other Governmental Departments, such as Civil Engineering, Water and Drainage Services etc., as well as many local and overseas Contractors.

Our reputation for quality and innovation is confirmed by our inclusion on the Works Bureau List of Specialised Contractors in our field of expertise and our ISO 9001 Accreditation. We operate a comprehensive testing laboratory, certified by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HOKLAS) with experienced technical staff, to meet any material testing requirement. Asphalt Surfaces maintains its current status and actively reviews future trends in our industry via local and overseas memberships at company and personal levels, to numerous asphalt associations and institutions.

Asphalt Surfaces’ production operations are located in Kowloon, the New Territories and Chek Lap Kok Airport, providing a prompt and efficient service to all areas of Hong Kong. Our production plant is a Benninghoven TBA 240 batch plant, situated in Tsing Yi, with an output rate of 240 tonnes per hour. Including our Titan 2000 production plant at the Chek Lap Kok Airport, currently operated in association with our Joint Venture, Asphalt Surfaces have the highest combined production capability in Hong Kong of any asphalt producer.

From our production plants we are able to produce mixed asphalt materials to any specification, including those which require recycling of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP). This supports one of our goals for sustainability and protection of the environment, which reflect the current wishes of the Hong Kong Government. Many of our mixes are pre-approved by the Research & Development Division of the Highways Department for use on Hong Kong roads. New or specialist mixes can also be designed at our Accredited Laboratory to meet any Specification requirement, including the increasingly popular polymer modified materials. All our materials can, with prior arrangement, be supplied 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Asphalt Surfaces operate asphalt pavers and compaction equipment as well as other associated surfacing resources, which affords us the ability to supply and lay quality materials within short periods of notice, to meet our client’s specific needs.

Asphalt Surfaces are currently in Joint Venture with Pioneer Asphalts (HK) Ltd (P-ASJV), and have completed a number of high profile projects, including the then new Container Terminal No.9, Intermediate surfacing layers for the Equestrian Arena’s to be used in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and more recently resurfacing works to both Runways at the Hong Kong International Airport. P-ASJV has also been involved in the construction of numerous new Taxiways and cargo areas, where they have supplied and laid mixed aggregate materials, geotextiles, bituminous sprays and seals and airfield markings, supporting our flexibility and ability to diversify. With the P-ASJV, we jointly own and operate a Bitumen production plant, an aggregate production plant and to our knowledge Asia's largest asphalt / concrete grooving machine.
