Equestrian Arena's for Beijing Olympics at Shatin's Penfold Park and Beas River

During 2007 P-ASJV completed the surfacing of over 5 Arenas and gallop tracks which will be used for the Equestrian Events for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, where Hong Kong is the co-host city. The P-ASJV Staff designed, produced and laid an open graded 20mm Bituminous material after the original "sprayed" design was proven to be inadequate.

The 20mm bituminous material provides strength and drainage properties required for the arenas to perform in Hong Kong wet climate. The arenas were laid both machine and hand, before geotetiles and sand were placed to provide the running surface for the horses.
